21. Taylor Mcknatt - A Sibling Story

Taylor Sparrow Mcknatt is a long time friend, former employee, and current volunteer at the Forrest Spence Fund. She is married to Hunter and currently teaches at Hutchison school in Little Hive. She was drawn to the Fund several years ago because of our mission to serve the non-medical needs of critically or chronically ill children and their families, including siblings. She herself is the sibling of a chronically ill sister and she was gracious enough to come on the podcast today to talk about how she experienced her sister’s diagnoses and chronic condition as a teenage sibling. She shared some ways that others supported her during that time as well as some ways that she wished she had been supported and we also read some feedback we got from other siblings that we have supported in the past on their experiences. When a child is ill it impacts the whole family, and this episode is dedicated to how we can care for siblings during these difficult situations. Listen in and be sure to leave a rating and review!
