52. Emily Harmon - A Family Story

Emily Harmon is a wife to Adam, a Chattanooga native and a mother of 3. Emily works in Business Development for University Surgical Associates where she educates the community, the 35 amazing surgeons in the practice, and all of their subspecialties. After having two healthy babies, she found out she was pregnant with baby number 3 who was diagnosed with Myelomeningocele Spina Bifida at L4/L5. Dollie was born on 7/18/2018 and had surgery to close her spine 48 hours after she was born. They were told that Dollie would never walk, never bend her knees and would likely develop hydrocephalus and have a shunt implanted. Dollie is doing wonderful! With all of the appointments and surgeries she has undergone, its been a challenge. The Harmon's are forever grateful for this gift and hope to support other families who feel overwhelmed and hopeless.
