70. The Lasley Kids - A Family Story
Ellis and Renner Lasley are from Memphis and the big brother and big sister to Elizabeth (fondly known as Zib). Zib was diagnosed in utero with a giant Omphalocele. All of her abdominal organs were in a clear sac outside of her body when she was born. Zib spent 149 inpatient days at Le Bonheur in 3 years and had 3 major surgeries to repair he Omphalocele. Today she is doing great and a typically functioning preschooler. We are honored to have Ellis who is 15 and a sophomore in high school and Renner who is 11 and a 6th grader in middle school on our podcast today to speak about their personal journey of being a sibling to a critically and chronically ill sister.
