59. Brittany Chance - A Family Story

Brittany Chance lives in Memphis, TN with her husband Roth, and their four sons Jace(10), Jack(9), Cash(5) and Colt(2).

Six months ago on September 14, their family ENT, Dr. Milburn had discovered a massive blood clot that took up the entire right side of Jack’s head and down into his neck. They rushed to Le Bonheur Children’s hospital, where a trauma team was waiting. Jack’s brain was so swollen from an infection it had caused a blockage. Jack went blind from the increased intracranial pressure and had a series of emergency surgeries to clear the infection. He was treated for meningitis and eventually had brain surgery to place a VP shunt.

Jack is a walking miracle today! His vision has been restored and the blood clot is for the most part gone. He is currently on blood thinners and will be a forever Le Bonheur patient.

The Chance family will always be grateful for Le Bonheur and has plans to get involved and give back to this amazing hospital!
